Robert Trent Jones, Jr. (The Jones) Course
A classic experience awaits both the accomplished and novice golfer on the 7,063-yard, par-72 course. The key to success is the ability to accurately judge the effects of the elevation changes. The par-3 13th hole features a 50-foot drop from tee to green, requiring a carry over a creek that runs across the front of the green, as well as a stone wall that dates back to the 1700s.
Jones provides mental challenges with risk/reward holes and a tee-to-green carry over water on the par-3 17th, as well as physical tests with a pair of classic, three-shot par-5s. While friendly, the strategic layout will demand your best play – regardless of skill level – rewarding you with a memorable round.
Greg Norman (The Norman) Course
Designed by the legendary Greg Norman, the “Great White Shark”, the Norman Course incorporates the natural undulations of its settomg along the Potomac River. The 7,332-yard par-72 course winds through a mature hardwood forest and beside rocky outcroppings. Those natural elements combine with historic sites on the 3rd and 4th holes to form the course’s distinct character using Norman’s “Least Disturbance Approach” to design.
Capable of hosting championship competition, the Greg Norman Course remains enjoyable for everyday golfers, with tees that fit a multitude of skill levels – including the memorable “island tees” on the par-4, first hole.
Upon its opening in 2005, Golf Magazine named this course one of the “Top 10 New Courses You Can Play”.

Belmont Country Club
Belmont Country Club is home to an 18-hole Arnold Palmer Signature golf course, which was nominated for the Best New Private Golf Course Award by Golf Digest in it’s inaugural year. Measuring 7.212 yards from the back tees, the natural elevation changes, the tree-lined fairways and the vast amount of wetland hazards, challenge all levels of golfers. As a result, Belmont was rated the third most challenging golf course in Virginia by the USGA.
It is very appropriate that this magnificent course starts off with the stunning par 4. It sits at one of the higher elevations on the property and looks down the steep hill leading from the Manor House with the Shenandoah Mountains in the background. The golfer faces a hole dropping nearly 100 feet in elevation from tee to green, so it will play a lot shorter than its measured length. The tee shot is straight down hill to a generous landing area, with trees lining both sides. Players will likely face a down hill lie to a generous green that slopes left to right with trouble right in the form of two large bunkers, and a steep drop off the back of the green, into the trees. This hole will be spectacular in the spring with hundreds of dogwoods, redbuds and serviceberry trees on every side, giving it the look of Augusta National.
